1. The more you attend, the more that people know you and you get to know people.
2. Everyone feels lost at conferences, and you are likely not alone.
3. Try to meet up with friends and arrange meetings with people before you attend.
4. Do not attend conferences for a long time. It try to keep the time at the conference as short as possible.
5. Try to attend smaller conferences in which there is a more research focus. You will likely get to know people a lot quicker.
