Eight out of ten General contractors don’t practice this inexpensive detail, only to be sued in the future and then learn.
I was specific that the homeowner calls a flashing contractor and has these metal saddles fabricated in the video below.
We called the GC back to install the necessary saddles but had no Luck; after many weeks and attempts, the GC’s guy did his best, but it was far from what a roof-to-wall saddle is designed for.
First, I informed the homeowners of this predicament and asked if they wanted to call another GC or metal fabricator to install metal saddles. They said, no, please do the best you can.
Thus I had to improvise with what I had to work with; I had to make my own saddles with flashing and adhesive sealant caulking.
I choose Sikaflex one A, caulking made by Dupont, as nothing I’m aware of lasts longer and is as strong.
I also used the best peal, sticks, metal flashing, and caulking sold in the USA for this critical detail.
