A good pizza sauce is must for making a classic pizza. Full of flavours this pizza sauce has all that is required to make a restaurant style Italian pizza at home. It is easy to make pure, delicious and healthy.
Ingredients to make healthy homemade Italian pizza sauce :-
5 medium size ripe tomatoes
1 tsp chopped garlic
1 tsp olive oil
1 large chopped onion
1 small chopped Capsicum
Salt to taste
Some chopped basil leaves
1 tsp chilli flakes
1 tsp oregano
1 tbsp organic tomato sauce
Sugar (optional)
Method to make healthy pizza sauce at home :-
Slit the bottom of the tomatoes making a cross sign. Place the tomatoes in a pan with boiling water. Let them cook for 45 minutes. Now remove the tomatoes and place them in chilled water. Blanching will stop the cooking process immediately. Peel the skin off from the tomatoes.
Now put the 3 balanced tomatoes in blender & blend to make a smooth Puree.
Chop the other 2 balanced tomatoes into small pieces.
In a pan heat 1 tsp olive oil. Add chopped garlic. Chopped onion and chopped Capsicum cook them till they are slightly soft. Add chopped tomatoes and mash them using a masher.
Add the Puree and mix well
Now add salt to taste, Chilli flakes, oregano and some basil leaves.
In the end add 1 tbsp organic tomato sauce for texture.
Cook the sauce on low heat for 15-20 minutes for until the sauce becomes thick.
Enjoy it on top of you pizza or use a pasta sauce or as dip & spread.
