Belfast City Centre ‘Troubles’ Walking Tour - A History of Terror
With our expert guides, visit sites of the conflict in Belfast city centre. Discover the history of the Troubles and learn how the Peace Process has brought us to the active, vibrant city you see today.

People might be used to the historical tours across the ruins and the old buildings which might tell them more about the city and the tragedies or troubles it has gone through but some of them might not be used to the idea of walking in the city center of a specific city and get lots of information about the times of troubles which the city has gone through; giving the people a clear view about the place and the things it has seen and witnessed.

This was considered one of the different things to do in Belfast, the capital city of Northern Ireland (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1OekTvb1Nw), and which is different than all the places and recommendations for landmarks and attractions which people always receive when they ask about the places they could head for when it comes to Northern Ireland.

A lot of people know nothing about this tour of troubles in Belfast - you might end up being the only one walking around with the tour guide :-) - and because of the normality that the city center looks like these days, you might not even realize that there were any troubles in the city before. All the pictures that you will get the chance to look at are not actual real ones to point out in the street but they will be ones shown to you on an iPad - good enough.

Although it is not considered a very exciting thing, but through this tour which the experienced tour guides will be sharing lots of information and history from the research they have managed to do, they will also share some of the firsthand experiences they had during these troubles.

It really feels interesting to walk through one of the busiest cities in Europe today and listen to all the stories related to the troubles and problems it has gone through before and then compare it to what you are viewing at the moment while walking through the city center, but you will eventually receive this good feeling that the city managed to come to this point at the end.

One of the problems of this walking tour and which you might have to deal with in Northern Ireland in general is the weather - you might end up walking in the rain - so at this point you will need to tolerate the rain while at the same time listen to what the tour guide is trying to share and explain.

If you have been been through this tour offered by the Dead Centre and which is about the history of troubles in Belfast, Northern Ireland before, then share with us your experience and tell us more about the things you loved the most about the tour and those which you want them to change in the future.

About the Site 🌐

This site provides links to random videos hosted at YouTube, with the emphasis on random. 🎥

Origins of the Idea 🌱

The original idea for this site stemmed from the need to benchmark the popularity of a video against the general population of YouTube videos. 🧠

Challenges Faced 🤔

Obtaining a large sample of videos was crucial for accurate ranking, but YouTube lacks a direct method to gather random video IDs.

Even searching for random strings on YouTube doesn't yield truly random results, complicating the process further. 🔍

Creating Truly Random Links 🛠️

The YouTube API offers additional functions enabling the discovery of more random videos. Through inventive techniques and a touch of space-time manipulation, we've achieved a process yielding nearly 100% random links to YouTube videos.

About YouTube 📺

YouTube, an American video-sharing website based in San Bruno, California, offers a diverse range of user-generated and corporate media content. 🌟

Content and Users 🎵

Users can upload, view, rate, share, and comment on videos, with content spanning video clips, music videos, live streams, and more.

While most content is uploaded by individuals, media corporations like CBS and the BBC also contribute. Unregistered users can watch videos, while registered users enjoy additional privileges such as uploading unlimited videos and adding comments.

Monetization and Impact 🤑

YouTube and creators earn revenue through Google AdSense, with most videos free to view. Premium channels and subscription services like YouTube Music and YouTube Premium offer ad-free streaming.

As of February 2017, over 400 hours of content were uploaded to YouTube every minute, with the site ranking as the second-most popular globally. By May 2019, this figure exceeded 500 hours per minute. 📈
