The Son of Protagoras Mural - Belfast by MTO - NI Video

When MTO - one of the famous international Graffiti artists who is involved with street art - visited Belfast, Northern Ireland, he decided to leave his print behind and paint for "Hit the North" which after days of hard work resulted with this massive art which was given the name "The Son of Protagoras" which we intended to visit and bring this video back to all those followers who have their own sense of art.
After this piece of art was created, it became more of a touristic place that people tend to visit and go to when they are in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and which we definitely agree on; it is a place which should be added on the list of cultural places that tourists should go to when it comes to Belfast, Northern Ireland.
In this painting, MTO draw a dove that has been pierced by arrows bearing the cross of the Knights of Malta and the Latin cross. This painting definitely took all people by surprise by the way it was drawn and the messages it delivered - some people might even perceive it differently than the others. We fell in love with this street art and we would suggest this place for those who might be coming to Belfast and are still building their plan about the places which they could visit.
The Son of Protagoras (Protagoras was a proponent of agnosticism) which MTO created is found in Talbot Street in Belfast and for those who might not understand what it actually represents, he once said that it represents the conflict between the Irish Catholic nationalists and the Protestant unionists in addition to the peace walls separating their Northern Ireland neighborhoods; all this is shown from the red hair man who is holding a dead pigeon drawn on the wall.

MTO is a short name for Mateo and he is a graffiti and street artist who was born and raised in France. Because artists usually love to jump from one place to another and from one country to the next in order to gain more experience and show their work to the world through leaving their prints everywhere, no one knows where MTO is residing at this moment but his work everywhere is speaking for him.
With this beautiful piece of art which MTO managed to do in Belfast, there are different other ones which he succeeded at doing as well. MTO is mainly known with his pieces which are hyperrealistic and large-than-life portraits, and these pieces are usually done with black and white with incorporating one more color to them. The best thing about the work of this artist is that he turns walls and places to pieces of art and make the whole place look totally different; adding a bit of meaning to it.
One of the famous things known about MTO is the detailed renditions of famous and cult-y actors and musicians with a dash of red as his signature, usually on a red outline of his work. For a period of time, MTO lived in Berlin and thus most of his pieces and work are located there, but he recently went out to other European countries and America and left his signature there, just like what he did in Belfast with The Son of the Protagoras that he drawn.
We at Connolly Cove love everything that might be related to art and we feel astonished whenever we stand in front of something which we have never seen before or something which we are spotting for the first time. When we got the chance to visit this piece of art by MTO in Belfast, in addition to wanting to take this video and bring it to the followers, we also stood stunned in front of the whole thing, the meaning it might be carrying behind it, and the amount of effort and time it took MTO to bring it to life in this beautiful way.
