Many times you do not feel like you are capable of finishing a PhD, and that you are not good enough to complete the degree. This is normal, and most people will feel very insecure during their PhD.
Why do you have self doubts with your PhD? You are pushing the boundary of something new, and there is no one else to talk to about the problem.
You are being compared with many other capable people. You are unlikely to feel that you are better than them.
How do you get over the self doubts with a PhD? It’s like any other large project that you do in life: Just do one step at a time.
1. Keep moving forward slowly. Don’t stop with your PhD.
2. Block out negative people. If people are being negative for you, disregard them. They are not giving you mojo.
3. Look back at what you accomplished. You can see that you have done a lot already.
4. Enjoy the journey. Just take pleasure in the pain - It tells you are doing the right thing.
