Soya Beans are one of the richest source of plant based Protein. Specially if you are a vegan Drinking Soy milk is one of the easiest way to fulfil you daily protein need. Homemade soy milk is far more healthier than store bought. But making it from scratch everyday is a tiring task. Hence today I am sharing the recipe of soy milk powder which you can make once and store for weeks to make instant soy milk whenever you want to have it. You can also you it for making smoothies, shakes or in dough.
Ingredients to make homemade soy milk powder :-
Soybeans/Soya beans 1/2 cup
Water as required at various stages
To make milk from this milk powder :
2-3 scoops of HomeMade Soy milk powder
1.4 cups of water
2-3 drops of vanilla extract (optional )
Any natural sweetener of your choice
Method to make soy milk powder at home :-
Wash and soak the soya beans overnight for for at least 5-6 hours
After that microwave the soaked soy beans for 2-3 minutes, now immediately transfer the soy beans in cold water and remove their skin by rubbing between hands or fingers.
The skin from the soya beans will start to floats on the top. Remove the skin as much as possible.
remove water from the soy beans using a strainer and pat dry the beans on a piece of cotton cloth.
Now Sundry the soya beans for 2-3 days
Once they become crisp, roast the sun dried soya beans on medium to low heat.
( make sure their is not moisture left in the beans, else the powder won't last for weeks)
Once Nicely roasted and turned slightly brown grind them using a grinder
Sieve the soybean milk powder using a very fine sieve.
Store this milk powder in an airtight container.
To make milk from this soy milk powder.
Add 2-3 scoops of this soy milk powder in 1/4 cup of lukewarm water.
Add 2-3 drops of vanilla extract (optional)
Add this mixture to a pan with hot water on flames.
Bring it to a boil and than let it simmer for few more minutes
