No need to go out to buy a packaged energy bar to fill the gap between meals, when you can make healthy jaggery and nuts bar at home with simple ingredients and following this easy
recipe.
INGREDIENTS:-
Jaggery 500g
Peanuts 200g
Almonds 100g
Sesame seeds 200g
Coconut 100g
Raisins 50g (optional)
Other nuts and seeds can be added as per your choice
METHOD:-
Step 1:- roast all the nuts and seeds separately in a pan, grind them
Step 2:- Mix all the nuts and seed mixture to grated coconut
Step 3:- wash a thick pan or Kadhai. Without wiping the water completely off the pan put it on flame and add jaggery. On low flame melt jaggery, keep stirring. Once melted completely add the dry ingredients mixture to the pan and mix thoroughly till everything is well combined. (don't over cook the jaggery)
Step 4:- Turn off the flame and immediately spread the mixture on a flat greased dish. Let it Cool for few minutes.
Step 5:- Cut it into bars and store in air tight container.
If stored well, these bars should last for weeks. These bars will give you instant energy at times of your hunger pangs.
