I remember when I first got started in network marketing. I was eager to get my business off the ground and running. My upline told me that if I really wanted to explode my business I would need to start using social media to reach more people.
Talk to more people he would say!
So I did what they told me to and I basically spammed my links to a ton of people on Facebook!
Yep, I copy and pasted the same script and my link to dozens of people. And how many responses did I get?
Yep...ZERO! lol
Have you ever been in the same situation?
So I eventually learned 3 reasons why that social media marketing plan did not work...
1. Everybody is doing it. The fact is that just within my company and team, thousands of people are using the exact same script and their links to spam people the exact same way as me.
What makes you stand apart if your approach is just as cookie cutter as everyone else.
2. Its impersonal. The one thing you can expect is people will NOT respond to a message that looks like it was typed up by some so called marketing expert from a big corporate company!
People know and can feel when you are genuine. And there is nothing genuine about sending a random message that has nothing to do with that person specifically.
If the message looks like it could have gone out to thousands of other people, then its a good bet you have lost that person.
Something I learned is people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care...
3. Its just spammy and annoying.
Just the same way you hate getting spam calls on your phone or spam mail in your mailbox, people are disgusted with you if you send them spam messages with your link in it.
Its just lazy marketing...
Prospects will never take you seriously nor this profession seriously if copy pasting scripts and links to hundreds of people continues to be your social media marketing plan...
