In this lecture, I have discussed the topic "Singlet Oxygen." This molecule is the spin variant of normal oxygen but its chemical properties are significantly different from the other one i.e. triplet. First of all, I have discussed the preparation of this chemical and later the unique chemical reactivity was utilized in different chemical reactions like C-H bond activation, Diels-Alder reaction etc. In addition, the toxicity is utilized for killing the cancer cells using photodynamic therapy.
